Based on a true events, Pride is an extraordinary story of U.K. gay activists who work to help miners during their lengthy strike of the National Union of Mineworkers in the summer of 1984 developing in an unlikely alliance between two different communities.

About the Speaker: Mike Jackson left Accrington for London in 1970 aged just 16 in search of a new career. He went on to become a founding member of the Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) group and is depicted in Pride by Joseph Gilgun (Harry Brown, Emmerdale, Misfits).

Her insensitive parents send her to a school run by Miss Trunchbull, a cruel authoritarian that loathes children. Matilda befriends her schoolteacher, Miss Honey who soon recognises the full extent of Matilda’s powers.
